I am considering running Archlinux as my linux server distro and I am concerned with security. I do really enjoy the lightweight and managable use of Arch and I do know it is not specifically designed for server use. I am going to be running a storage server with a combination of apache for a few specific things. Can anyone vouche for Arch in its dependablity with LAMP and other server related things? Is there a better lightweight Distro that has a server specific build that I should use? Personal opinion and such are welcome, thanks!:D

archlinux.org runs on Arch. Good enough for me.
Arch requires a different approach, since it is a rolling release, but it makes a fine lamp server.

I personally use Debian stable for an Internet facing server on which' service others rely. For a home server or a private server, I see no problem with using Arch.
Debian stable only gets security updates, whilst Arch generally doesn't provide security updates for old versions. You get security updates by updating to the most recent version.
The "problem" with Arch is that you have to take care when updating, because for instance packages have been split (recent php update) or incompatibilities with new major version of packages (postgres 8.3->8.4). You have to be aware of the existence of these issues (they don't happen often, but they do happen) and read the main page and forms before blindly updating.
