Gnome does not automount/detect a floppy disk

mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/temp

works fine.

When I click on the floppy drive in Nautilus, I get nothing. When I click "detect media" in "palimpsest", I get "no media detected". In both cases the floppy drive moves a head (mechanical), but a disk is not mounted.

I can not tell when the problem appeared first, I don't use floppy very much. Here is an output of "lshal" about floppy:

Re: Gnome does not automount/detect a floppy disk

May be the same issue as other threads around here about automount and gnome 2.28. Search the forums.

On a side-note - people still use floppies 0.0!
