I moved my vista partition forward 15GB and shrank it.
Now, when I try to boot it from grub, the machine just reboots.

Ouch !
Moving and resizing always comes with *big* warnings.
Is the windows installation still on the first partition of your drive ? I'm just
wondering why you 'moved it forward' ?

I moved it forward to expand the partition before it so I could install 7.
It was previously the 3rd partition, and still is.
Damn windows, linux would have taken the move with no issues

I seem to have fixed it with the windows install disk. It repaired it, and didn't even kill grub
