[SOLVED] Print pdf selections

Is there a way to print a fit-to-page subselection of a pdf-file without resorting to the 32bit Adobe Reader's snapshot tool?
I already tried it with Okular, but when I used its snapshot tool, it only lets me save a jpg/png which has lower resolution since it isn't vector format any more.

I'm not sure what you are attempting, but both gimp and inkscape will import pages of pdf files.

Re: [SOLVED] Print pdf selections

I'm trying to print part of a pdf file page to a full physical paper page.
E.g. if there's a pdf with two pages on one, I want to print both halves on their own full page.
Thanks for your suggestions. I tried both, here's what happened:
GIMP: Imports my pdf nicely, but I have to specify a higher import resolution than the default one, so fonts are not blurry when printed.
Inkscape: Seems better in that it keeps text in vector format (don't know whether that's the correct term), but unfortunately gave me some 'internal error' when I tried it on the file I originally wanted to import and quit. It did work on a couple of other pdfs I tried it out on, though.
