that's what dmesg and kernel.log shows... thousands of lines like that...

im getting sick of this, and i think it's the reason for the X server to crash when, in GNOME, i open Amarok, or Emesene, or i start the fusion-icon

it's driving me crazy!!!

i dont want Arch to throttle my CPU clock...

Re: CPU clock throttled

Is your problem with Arch or with your hardware?  In other words, do you really have an overheating problem?  If not, can you disable the CPU throttling safety feature in your BIOS?

Re: CPU clock throttled

nope, its not an overheating problem, and no, it's not caused by the BIOS, it's caused by Arch, this never happened for me in Fedora or Linux Mint...

Re: CPU clock throttled

As a sanity check, try disabling ACPI, and see what happens. If that fixes it, look into ACPI-based modules that may be involved.

Re: CPU clock throttled

Hello,

For what it's worth I experienced this issue very recently too.

However, I believe I only hit this as X hit 100% CPU with KMS. The combination of turning off KMS and replacing heatsinks+fans helped.

I think my issue truely was just overheating -- my laptop gets clogged with dust and needs cleaning every so often and has throttled regardless of OS in the past.
