[SOLVED] Install dhclient from disk?

Hi there mates. Jo here fron Melbourne.

I just installed arch coming from ubuntu.

Back then i was using iwconfig and dhclient to connect to my iphone on adhoc mode. But now on arch, dhclient is not installed onna base system. Im tryig dhcpcd but kept getting time out errors.

Since i dont have connection on arch, i want to download dhclient package for arch from windows an install it. The question is, like debian with dpkg, is there something similar with arch? If so, can someone please link me to the right directions?

Thank you!

Re: [SOLVED] Install dhclient from disk?

Hello Jo,

You can download the dhclient package and install it from file with pacman (-U switch).  Here's a link to the file on an Australian mirror: ftp://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/archlinux/ex … pkg.tar.gz
Replace x86_64 with i686 in the url if required.

Ciao.
