Just like the title says: Arch's User Guide (both the Over view guide and the Beginner's guide) totally rock!
Why do I say this? Well, because after reading a few other guides like: Gentoo (useful but bloated with USE flags) and Debian (pretty extensive), they fail in many points.
Granted, each system runs different, so their guides are designed to explain the pros and cons of each system.
When I was reading the guide for Gentoo, there was a lot of information on many subjects; such as compiling from source, stage 3 tarballs, portage, USE flags, Internet, etc,
but somehow it felt out of place without telling you how to install a desktop environment, but had almost 3 whole chapters for Internet configuration and Portage alone!
No mention about how to configure X-org, your video card, etc, etc.
Then Debian's guide is super deep, and again, I got almost freaked out at the sheer amount of info they packed there, but again, no comments (if all too brief) about installing a desktop
environment or anything else for that matter. Maybe because Debian is mostly used for Sys-admin stuff, so it's more command-line prone.
On the other hand, both Arch guides are packed with lots of info, and useful at that.
I learned more about my system and how it operates, and Arch's guide is not even that big! (though is very deep in a technical way).
So... whomever wrote those guides... great job!
In fact, they did an awesome job!
Thanks a lot once again for all that good stuff.

Gentoo's install docs are quite useful I thought. But as you said configuring xorg and stuff are lacking. But they did lose like the whole gentoo wiki.
One of the reasons I came to Arch. And I do agree the guides for arch are much better,

I might just buy that, is it just an installation guide?

Thanks for the mention, Gen2ly. ;)
I always have to mention freigeist, who valiantly started work on the guide, and then sadly, disappeared. :(

Seriously. I know how to fix most of the stuff that goes "bad" when something happens.
And all because the guide is as straight-forward as is.
Kudos to the Arch Team for your awesome guide :3
