Bumping.

I know bumbing rules vary from forums to forums, and bumbing is considered rude here. What if my question is not answered in a few days? Or a week or so? I have a topic that is unanswered. What do I do?

Re: Bumping.

if a topic is not getting answered, it usually just means that nobody has a good answer.  Usually posting more information or any more detail will help others to help you come up with a solution. http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/For … te#Bumping

Re: Bumping.

Sometimes threads get missed too. If your post has well thought out questions and you bump it after a day or two, that's not a big deal. Or, if you found a solution and the thread was interesting to others, that's not bad either. Bumping threads after five minutes because of impatients or to add a little bit of information (that's what the edit button is for), that isn't helpful and shouldn't be tolerated.

Re: Bumping.

You can bump after 24 hours. That means a post like 'Please help people' or 'Bump' or whatever you deem necessary to get your topic back into the topic list. If you keep troubleshooting, as the wiki says, post to your own topic with new info, it's not considered bumping (unless you do it every 15 minutes of course and add nothing substantial, that's what we have the lovely edit button for).
