Hi, I successfully (mostly) got my audigy 2 installed and working. The only problem is that it only plays out of the center, right, left, and sub speakers, but not the rear right and rear left. I am sure it is a simple setting, I just have no idea what it would be. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Well, it works great now. I really can't tell you what I did. Oh well.

For me, it worked right from the start. Removed old soundcard, added audigy 2, had surround. Nothing to tweak here.

So what do you listen to that has more than two channels - do some games use 5.1?

I downgraded from a good Digifire card with shit support (cs46xx has NO surround support) and no I have a shit Creative, which, because it's 32-bit, is also completely shit!

Yep, games mostly. Supposing you are playing, let's say, GTA Vice City, and a car crashes by your right side, you will hear the noise in the right speakers. If the car crashes by your left side, you will hear it in your left speakers.
To make the rear speakers work you have to use Alsamixer, if you are using Alsa. I have to go to work right now, I'll tell you how to do that later.

Yeah, I think I just unmuted the surround sound part of the speaker system. It is weird though, it is really putting out a lot of bass compared to when in Windows. Does this happen to anyone else, and if so did you do anything specific? I will change some more alsamixer settings, and see what I can do.
