Hi everyone, I have a "foolish" question...
I gonna buy a new video card ( xfx nvidia 8600 gt), my question is if I have to uninstall the nvidia drivers to install the new card or just replace the old card for the new one and the system is going to reconfigure automatically for say somethin. My actual card is a xfx nvidia 7200 gs, the driver that i'm using is for the new cards.
Thanks!!!!

I think all you need to do is remove your old xorg.conf file and re-run nvidia-xconfig. However it will be safer if you re-installed the nvidia driver after changing your card.

It might just work if you swap them out but to be on the safe side I'd reconfigure the x server anyway, you dont need to re-install the driver AFAIK

Yep I would just delete xorg.conf, shutdown and switch cards.
Reboot run nvidia-xconfig with whatever options you need and then start the X server.
