Tremulous brightness not working.

I think this is caused by the new xorg but I'm not sure. The brightness adjustment under tremulous has stopped working around the time I updated my xorg recently. Brightness adjustment works using xbacklight, but tremulous has it's own (fake?) brightness adjustment which just brightens the game colors, not really the backlight. It just stopped working. I tried tremulous, tremulous-updated, and tremfusion-hg, all are affected by this. Any ideas?

Re: Tremulous brightness not working.

Try setting the r_gamma variable, pull down the console with the ~ key and type

r_gamma 1.4

If you want to save the setting, type

seta r_gamma 1.4

The official Tremulous Forum can probably help you with general questions.

Re: Tremulous brightness not working.

r_gamma is not doing anything here either. For a temporary workaround, run something like "xgamma -gamma 1.5" before running tremulous, it works here both for window and fullscreen modes.

edit: works in fullscreen only if tremulous is first run in window, then switched to fullscreen
