Anyone know of any good media streamer that I can install on my archlinux server hosting my divx/xvid files?
I want to be able to play them on my PS3 so I can watch em on my LCD!

+1 for MediaTomb. I used it for a while to stream media until I setup my HTPC. It worked very well.

+1 for ps3media server. Works great and can even stream to xbox360.

+1 for mediatomb. My only use of PS3 is media streaming via Mediatomb. It' s been working flawlessly, 24/7, for 2 years.

+1 for ps3mediaserver, works better than anything else I tried, and most of the time transcoding works too.

edit: package already exists in aur, never mind

Followup question:
Can either ps3mediaserver or mediatomb be running in a non X11 environment?

mediatomb can yeah. its interface is a web server which you can access externally, but most of the setup is done in text config files
also yeah, +1 for mediatomb although its unmaintained at the moment, it can transcode arbitrary formats (e.g. mythtv NUV) for playback on the ps3

Ok, but you still need a webserver installed?

+1 for mediatomb (using vlc)

I'm sure it can, it doesn't have a GUI interface. Just a web interface, the web interface does require a browser with javascript capability. So this may not be 100% what you are after.

Did you take a look at its dependencies?

No, it has its own one. Also it doesn't need a browser on the host computer, but it does need spidermonkey the javascript library (look at the dependencies of the package). If you want to use the web interface then yeah, you'll need a browser but it doesn't need to be on the machine with no X11.

How do I do that when it's an AUR?

Look at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=10199
Dependencies: curl expat ffmpeg libexif spidermonkey sqlite3 taglib

yaourt just lets you use pacman syntax with AUR packages. The AUR is just a website where you can upload your own. Look on the wiki for more info, especially if you're going to install something
