I'm new to Arch linux and got a problem with sound. I have KDE4 installed and the sound is working well but when I try to play a MP3 on any audio player except VLC it just doesn't play. I've tryed Amarok, JuK, Audacious and XMMS but no sound. I also get an error when I run Amarok or JuK that is saying, "The audio playback device HDA ATI SB (ALC833 Analog) does not work. Falling back to default".
I don't have a clue what is wrong and hope you guys can help me out.

Look under K Menu -> Computer -> System Settings -> Multimedia. There should be some selections there for audio devices. Find the one that works with the "Test" button, and move it to the top with "Prefer." You may have to do that for every subsection of Audio Output.

Installing "phonon-xine" and setting Phonon to use xine should help.
