I was running out of space in my root partition so I decided to use part of the disk that only had my personal data for /usr.
So, I resized and copied over all files from /usr.
But, I realized that I had forgot to preserve permissions after I had already deleted the original /usr partition.
I think I am going to run into many problems e.g. X not running because of setuid bit?
So I am looking for a way to restore permissions without reinstalling all the packages. Any suggestion?

You could check the packages in your pacman cache for the right permissions. Or you could reinstall them, essentially copying the original files with the right permissions to your new /usr. Maybe better make a backup of your configs before you do so though. I also think there might be a simpler way...
For lack of better words: chair, never, toothbrush, really. Ohw, and fish!
