So I've been attempting to setup an FTP on my new "server", I have it to a point where I can connect to the ftp, and see my /home/*username* folders, but inside the folder there are no files. I'm sure it's just some stupid thing I messed up but I've been fiddling with it for a few hours I'm stuck.
Edit:
The strange thing is I can't even cd to the folders under SRCDS, but if I type dir then I can see them there. The server also runs fine. I can however cd to the files if I su - root. So I'm assuming it's less the FTP and more the folder permissions.
Edit2:
I did chmod -R 777 /srcds/ and now I can access all the folders and files but they still don't appear in the FTP.

Are you using proftp, vsftp or something else? I use vsftp and have never had an issue.

Okay I tried setting up vsftp after a series of errors that I googled to fix etc. I'm now at this point
Command: MLSD
Response: 500 Unknown command.
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
EDIT: using a different FTP client solved my final problem. Thanks all.
