Re: Trying to fix Sluggish System

For Firefox slowdown, you can also try firefox-pgo and firefox-beta-pgo in the AUR smile
If you use x86_64, firefox-beta-pgo will especially help, since I added a patch to that package to force TraceMonkey on (_huge_ performance boost).

I am not sure that would help. If the graphical rendering is slow, I would expect it to stay slow with -pgo.

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Well, even the GUI of Firefox is written in JavaScript IIRC, so maybe smile

Re: Trying to fix Sluggish System

I tried installing it with yaourt but it seems to need nouveau:

missing dependency for xf86-video-nouveau : nouveau-drm>=0.0.15_20091101

I am now using nvidia, because nouveau doesn't work for me.

Thanks.

I think that's just the output of testdb. Maybe you want to uninstall xf86-video-nouveau for now (until you want to try nouveau again smile )

Re: Trying to fix Sluggish System

I have it installed now. Not sure if it's faster or not. But it certainly works. smile

Could be that it IS a bit faster.

Thanks.
