XFCE USB mouse isn't recognized.

Well, it turns out if I plug the mouse in before boot, it gets recognized. Any ideas?

Why do you think this is XFCE related?

Also: check the output of dmesg when you plugin/out the mouse.

This happens probably because you have line

MOD_AUTOLOAD="no"

in your /etc/rc.conf

External usb mouse/keyboard uses usbhid & hid modules, and you are not loading them. Try it?
