hey, the maintainer of the ffmpeg2theora package, Eric Bélanger, is on the "Past trusted Users"-List.
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Trusted_Users
So the package doesn't get updated and is now incompatible with libtheora-v1.1.
What happens now?
Will somebody take over the maintainance for this specific package, and does a maintainer in general give a message when she_he leaves and packages have to go to somebody else?
Should I better ask such questions on the Newbie Corner?

He may be a past trusted user, but he is a current developer: http://www.archlinux.org/developers/#EricB

Oh, yes.
I wrote him a jabber message.

I was waiting for the upcoming ffmpeg rebuild to update the package. Anyway, 0.25 doesn't build with the ffmpeg in the repo. I guess it's too old. Is there a problem with ffmpeg2theora? Can you be more specific about it? Does rebuilding the package fix it?

I'd recommend having snapshot builds of FFMPEG periodically, the goal of FFMPEG is to have as stable of a trunk as possible, and I believe it fulfills this well. I haven't had an issue with any version of FFMPEG so far, and I compile the latest svn every day.
17:23 < ConSiGno> yeah baby I release the source code with your mom every night
17:24 < ConSiGno> you could call them nightly builds if you know what I mean
