Set additional display resolutions in VirtualBox?

I am running WinXP as a guest in VirtualBox 3.0.12 and am having problems with remote access to the WinXP guest from my laptop.

I can access the WinXP guest with rdesktop from my laptop okay but I can only choose one of three display resolutions:

800 by 600
1024 by 768
1152 by 864

I would like to get a resolution of 1024x600 (my laptop's native res) but everytime I use rdesktop with '-g 1024x600' I get forced back to one of the above three.

I have installed Guest Additions and the VirtualBox Graphics Adapter is indeed the graphics driver for the WinXP guest.  However, I still only get the above three choices for screen resolution.

Is there any way I can get more screen resolution choices?
