The subject says it all:
How do I set user permissions on /dev/ttyS0
When I do this:
chmod 666 /dev/ttyS0
It works but when I reboot I have to reset it again.
I need it to be persistent after a reboot.
Thanks for any help.
Offline
put it in /etc/rc.local

Thanks
I'll give it a try when I get home from work.
Offline
create a file /etc/udev/rules.d/60-serial.rules with:
KERNEL=="ttyS0", MODE="0666"
Offline
anyway remember that ttyS0 is with [root:uucp] (660), so if add the user to uucp group will works.

So, do I just add my user to the uucp group or do I need to create the file /etc/udev/rules.d/60-serial.rules as well?
Thanks

only add your user to uucp
gpasswd -a johnboy68 uucp
Good luck!
