e17 Dual Monitors, Single Wallpaper[SOLVED]

Greetings Community,

I've been doing some searching around both here and on google, but haven't
really found what I'm looking for.

Is it possible to have a single wallpaper span both monitors in e17? So far
all I can seem to do is apply the same (dual monitor) wallpaper cramped
uniformly onto both desktops.

I've an nvidia card with Twinview installed currently. I'm not sure if that
would have any bearing...

Any input/insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

or maybe you could try using feh, eseroot, or nitrogen.  basically, use a different program than whatever is packaged with E17.  I personally use feh, and it is also a great, lightweight, image viewer as well.

or maybe you could try using feh, eseroot, or nitrogen.  basically, use a different program than whatever is packaged with E17.  I personally use feh, and it is also a great, lightweight, image viewer as well.

E17, at least in the past, has a layer on top of the root window so tools like feh don't work properly. It's designed that way so users can have animated desktops.

The simplest solution that I found when I was working with E17 was to cut the image in half with GIMP, and set the wallpaper individually per screen.

This is the solution I've been using up to now. I'll hack around a bit more
and see if I come up with any alternatives and report back. I'll mark this
solved for the time being.

XFCE 4.6.1 has the same problem.  I have dual monitors and there used to be an option to be able to set one large image to span both monitors in XFCE 4.4.  But now that option is gone for whatever reason, and I can't seem to find an explaination for it.  I don't really want to split all my dual screen images.  WHY?!?!

XFCE 4.6.1 has the same problem.  I have dual monitors and there used to be an option to be able to set one large image to span both monitors in XFCE 4.4.  But now that option is gone for whatever reason, and I can't seem to find an explaination for it.  I don't really want to split all my dual screen images.  WHY?!?!

Please don't hijack threads. This one was about E17, not XFCE.

Anyway, XFCE draws the background on the root window, so one of the tools like feh can do what you want.
