all there is to it, downgrading to core/extra version of heimdal + dependees fixes it
does samba need a rebuild?

yes. samba doesn't build against it. we are working on it now.
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Not only SAMBA/Mplayer. Confirm for CVS:
cvs: /usr/lib/libkrb5.so.25: version `HEIMDAL_KRB5_1.0' not found (required by cvs)

From IRC on the mplayer problem. mplayer-mt-git was having problems:
[07:10] MrElendig : Hunner: the -mt branch is deprecated
[07:11] MrElendig : Hunner: they switched to git submodules instead
[07:13] MrElendig : Hunner: http://pastie.org/private/ttwyw6xwt9zju4nys5x2ra < what I'm using atm
This build works for me until it blows over. Also, I'm tickled by the fact that I just installed a pkg called mplayer-hello-kitty...

samba/smbclient is now rebuilt so wait for the update to fix it soon.

just upgraded, it works, but is there a reason for the 1minute delay between the restart command and the [done] status?
$ time sudo /etc/rc.d/samba restart

EDIT
it appears to be related to samba trying to connect to my cups server (even if i dont have any printers added through samba).
will debug later

I am still getting an error with mplayer trying to watch a stream:
mplayer: /usr/lib/libkrb5.so.25: version `HEIMDAL_KRB5_1.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libsmbclient.so.0)
I think that "extra/gstreamer0.10-ugly 0.10.13-1" and "extra/gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins 0.10.13-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins)" have the codec it needs.

mplayer does not use gstreamer... Make sure you have this version of smbclient installed:
> pacman -Si smbclient
Repository : testing
Name : smbclient
Version : 3.4.3-4
Online
This also breaks evolution-data-server:
[azmotus@leviathan ~]$ exchange-connector-setup-2.28
exchange-connector-setup-2.28: /usr/lib/libkrb5.so.25: version `HEIMDAL_KRB5_1.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libexchange-storage-1.2.so.3)
Rebuilding evolution-data-server from abs fixed the problem.

That is because no-one else can replicate your bug. So it is either your system not being fully up to date, or something else specific to your system.
If there was such a bug in subversion, we could not have committed the packages to the repos...

Bump! It's still not working. I just -Syu'ed my system and got this claimed-to-be-no-more error. Of course that's one day after cleaning pacman cache, so I don't have older version of heimdal to reinstall...

Well, it appears to be 3.4.3-3... I assumed it will be 3.4.3-4 right after fresh Syu. I'm downloading 3.4.3-4 right now, hope it will be ok.
Also, thank you for such a quich answer

build? why ? pacman -Syu solves the problem.

Apparently I use outdated mirrors (all of them?), cause all I can get with Syu is 3.4.3-3 instead of *-4. Building it was faster and easier than searching for new mirror.
However now I've got smbclient 3.4.3-4, heimdal 1.3.1-2 and still nothing works.
And now I'm off to find some nice up-to-date mirror, maybe it's some dependecies issues?
edit: typo.
