I have a weird problem with KDE. I installed the base and after starting a KDE session the kde toolbar/taskbar whatever at the bottom is gray with lines and anything that would pop up form also grey with lines or black with lines (like plaid or checkered) also when i press power it goes to a screen where i can't read anything (same checkered or plaid). I can pull up windows from the thing at the topright (the picture of the foot or whatever that may be) and the desktop background itself looks fine. I can even bring up a web browser or anything from the top right and it will work perfectly. Any suggestions? I also tried installing kde full and it gave me the error ... failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
::gcc: requires gcc-lins=4.4.1-1.
gcc libs is already installed so I don't why thats happening. I tried installing it again just to make sure, but what i said was confirmed
it gave me this same dependency error when trying to install Xfce
Thanks

Have tried to remove the kdebase-workspace and then just run pacman -Sy kde?
