Acer Aspire One wiki problem?

Hello all, I bought a new Acer Aspire One netbook today so naturally I wanted to install ArchLinux on it, I was very happy to find this page :
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acer_Aspire_One

However, it never mentions you have to install xf86-input-keyboard, is there some reason?

Without installing this package, the keyboard does not work in X.

Re: Acer Aspire One wiki problem?

I know, but the AA1 wiki page says:

You will need to install packages:

    * xorg
    * xf86-video-intel
    * xf86-input-synaptics

I honestly didn't know what synaptics was, and it was such an explicit-looking list that I assumed that was all; and because of its apparent explicitness IMHO it would be good to add the xf86-input-keyboard.

Re: Acer Aspire One wiki problem?

Well you can edit the page - or add something to the discussion page and see what others say.

My view is that all of the machine specific pages should be a supplement to the Beginners' and Official Install Guides. That is, you follow those guides closely and then use the AA1 page (in this case) to fine tune the install.

Duplicating the content across the wiki just leads to bloat and is not really in keeping with the Arch way...
