Changing DPI settings [Solved]

I tried editing my xorg and adding "DisplaySize     338 270" so that my DPI would be 96x96 (on a 1280x1024 resolution) but my dpi doesn't seem to change after ctrl-alt-del or reboot. "xdpyinfo | grep resolution" still tells me Im running at 85x86 dots per inch.

BTW I have a GeForce 6600GT, Nvidia driver 190.42, and Samsung 940b monitor.

Re: Changing DPI settings [Solved]

Is your resolution correct? 1280x1024 is what you want?
I don't use xorg.conf, so I don't know if this will work for you. Please, try one at a time.
* Modify your .xinitrc and add 'xrandr --dpi 96'.
* Add 'Xft.dpi: 96' to your .Xdefaults.

Re: Changing DPI settings [Solved]

The first method didn't do anything but the second method helped. Thanks
