A couple more, for fun. I really appreciate all the feedback, and the asteroids version is my favorite as well.

Re: The Arch-Games logo creation contest! [Winner posted!]

The asteroid one is creative and excellent, but it wouldn't scale well with the fine details.

Re: The Arch-Games logo creation contest! [Winner posted!]

the idea of this invader thingy is quite nice but imho not that significant than the second one. also it's not really a "logo". personally, i think a reworked arch logo which resembles a bit the original pacman would fit perfectly (also rendered in this awesome 8bit style) tongue

Ha, you beat me to it.
Edit: I know, the pixel version is pretty bad.

@graveyardpc: wow, the first one is really amazing :thumps: !
it reveals everything what is about in one logo: arch as distro which includes pacman as game and package manager

I think based on the number of subscriptions, when voting is held, we vote for our top 3 favorites in order. The #1 vote gets 3 points, #2 gets 2 points, third choice gets 1 point. The logo with the most points at the ends is the one we will pick. smile

Re: The Arch-Games logo creation contest! [Winner posted!]

Well despite the fact that graveyard has this sewn-up, I have to post something tongue

Clicky

I am fully aware that it doesn't really compare, but I liked the gamepad idea on the first page.
First I thought the pad needed shrinking. Then I thought it could go in the circle. Then I thought
of this. If anyone feels like submitting a more polished version, be my guest.

I really like the idea of a joystick, or at least that's what it looked like to me (after a Christmas tree of course -- too much black). So here's a polished version:
archgames-kaolbrec.png
I think the second version is more appropriate, but you be the judge.

I did say it didn't compare - it's my first time using inkscape big_smile
Also I don't know how small this thing might be made, so I'm not sure about how much detail is needed.

I like the left version, because it leaves the Arch logo more intact. And mine does look like a Christmas tree, now you mention it lol

Maybe you (scnd101) can make a logo with your graphics which is more like the secound one from GraveyardPC's last proposals. It still looks too much like a xmas tree big_smile

Re: The Arch-Games logo creation contest! [Winner posted!]

My attempt, I just tried to keep it as simple as I could (mostly because I suck with inkscape):

Well, I haven't figured out the text yet but here is the logo anyway. It's my attempt on a KISS logo.

Re: The Arch-Games logo creation contest! [Winner posted!]

GraveyardPC took one of my ideas, so I'm just gonna merge it with the few revisions needed to match my original concept... all credit for the actual logo goes to him though since he posted it first.

Very nice.  This gets my vote for most distinct logo and Graveyard's asteroid one as best for creativity.
