Computer keeps "resetting" for no reason

I like to keep my computer on overnight (logged into my account) but today I woke up to the slim login screen. Yesterday a similar thign happened where I had left the computer alone for a few hours only to find that it had logged me out somehow. Here's the only interesting stuff from /var/log/everything.log:

/var/log/Xorg.0.log (or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old if X has started again) would likely be more interesting.

Okay sure, but the whole thing would be nice too... wink

What video driver is it, at least?  If it's the nVidia blob, there have been problems with that lately, due to the xorg update.

Try downgrading to xorg-server previous version (1.6.3)

Before you downgrade, please file a bug report for this. xf86-video-intel 2.8 had a number of problem resulting in a segmentation fault of /usr/bin/X. They should have been fixed in 2.9. If they aren't, the developers will want to know. The intel 945G is a very common graphics system, which makes a bug report about this even more valuable.

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

I think I'm suffering from the same bug with the same IGP, but it's been awhile since it's happened, it's happened about 3 times, but I haven't checked my logs; but if it is the same bug then it isn't related to screensavers, because it happened while I was working at my desktop, things started closing, the desktop went black and before I knew it I was at the kdm login screen.

... imagine I'm making this argument without referencing cartoons.

I write a lot of documents, so I discovered that, the Xorg crashes in most cases, when I press 'enter' on keyboard, and only one/per reboot. Doesn't matter if I restart only Xorg, aftert start, or not - one time on one reboot of notebook.
