Re: could not login into gnome

Looking at some log-files the X-server seem to segfault...

I have only experienced this on a 64-bit machine with a recent ati-card...

Re: could not login into gnome

Added a task on bugtracker: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/17387

To downgrade simply run
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/[packagename]-[version].pkg.tar.gz

(assuming you dont have deleted your cache?)

Re: could not login into gnome

weel, thank you a lot, it halped me and gnome works again now. (aboutdongrading packages there is something written on the site http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Downgrade_packages).

Is it possible to define, that I don't want to have installed this version? (like package mask in emerge?). It means, if I run packamn -Syu, it will not upgrade again? Thank you :-).

Re: could not login into gnome

Checkout pacman.conf in /etc/ and put your packages in IgnorePkg line smile

Edit: if you have time, read entiry man-page for pacman. You will be amazed how many things it can do...

Re: could not login into gnome

As of xorg-server-1.7.3-1 this problem should no longer be present.
