Unmounting any drive

I can mount drives successfully(although sometimes I get weird mount names like /media/5cad67-agh/), but whenever I try to umount a drive from a file manager I get this error.

Error unmounting: umount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
umount: only root can unmount UUID=0E54805E42FA4E6E from /media/sdb2

When this happens I have to go into the terminal and type

sudo umount /media/sdb2

This is with every device usb or not. Mp3 players, flash drives, kindle, phone etc. I am thinking this is a hal issue. Help? Thank you!
