I am trying to activate multitouch with my t400s.
I am particulary interested in two finger scrolling. There is an option in the gnome mouse preferences to have edge scrolling and two finger scrolling.
Edge scrolling works well, but two finger scrolling doesn't.
I have also tried editing synaptics configurations files (both with hotplugging and without) but I didn't really get to a point...

I already tried to edit xorg.conf following that wiki page but it doesn't seem to affect the system at all. Probably everything is handled by hal right now

Thn you have to change the policy files for the touchpad.

katzen: You need to disable hotplugging before those setting will have any effect.

I would like to do so since, as far I understand, gnome handles devices through it. I will try anyway.
I also edited the .fdi files but nothing changes. My idea is that the gnome configuration thing overrides other configurations

Gnome could be the cause...take a look at the mouse settings

ok, I solved the problem adding a script that sets the parameters with synclient, as suggested here: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=83057
It's quite hacky but it works

I've got another problem now, the touchpad doesn't work as it should after suspend.
What do I have to do to execute a certain script after that the laptop has been suspended?
