I installed compat-wireless today and saw an immediate jump in signal strength. Where i was hovering around 20% and dropping, I'm now at 55% and maintaining a connection. The only caveat is I had to install it the old fashion make install way as the makepkg route was trying to delete modules and fakeroot wasn't working. Other than that though, no problems.

I've been trying to install compat-wireless for a while now but I cannot for the life of me do it. Was it a long process? Any chance of a very brief how-to? I'm running a DLink DWA-556 which uses AR5008 I believe.

EDIT: I've tried the AUR version which fails to build complaining about wrong kernel revision.
