Easter date... cal/ncal version?

Hi all,

I was trying today to find out next Easter date and recalled that cal/ncal should be able to show it.

man cal... Suprise, surprise: no Easter-related options. Ok, I could be wrong, let's check the net... WTF?

Wrapping up the issue, cal is owned by util-linux-ng 2.16-1, the cal/ncal version I need is not in core/extra/community or AUR and should be contained in bsdmainutils.

Am I missing something or I have to repackage bsdmainutils?

Thanks, regards,

Re: Easter date... cal/ncal version?

Is it a BSD or a GNU / Linux app? They differ in many ways: some tiny, some biiig.

Re: Easter date... cal/ncal version?

cal/ncal version should be BSD utils, but the packaged version for Arch is the GNU/Linux one. Well, I want both smile

Re: Easter date... cal/ncal version?

Mmh, I thought it will be simpler to write a PKGBUILD that compiled required C files, but BSD ones from FreeBSD are not portable and Debian's ones are a mess... Tried to fix the sources by hand, but ncal segfaults...

Thanks for pointing out deb2targz, I went for it. Now ncal is running as binary installation with stow, thanks.
