How to list new packages in repos?

Hi to all.

Is there any way to tell pacman to list the new packages added to repos since your last upgrade?

Or how do you know that a new interesting package has been added to the repos?

thanks

Another way is to use Xyne's "rebase" instead of pacman -Sy. It tells you what changed when it updates.

You can also get a listing of new packages sent to the repos since your last upgrade with pacman:

pacman -Syu

Is that what you mean?

Edit:  note that you don't have to say "yes" to the upgrade if you don't want to upgrade, but it still gives the listing of new packages.

but in feeds you get also version upgrades I was looking for something simple.

like in other distros or package managers  (ie synaptic) that you can list new packages, has pacman any option for this?

thanks

no, because this will list new versions of your already installed packages, i wanted to know if theres is any way to get the new packages added to repos, like before syncing repos they had X packages, now after syncing they have X+100 packages, then list the 100 new packages to see if there is something interesting new ones.

but I will look at the other ideas to see what i can get.

Thanks
