I just uploaded a package and PKGBUILD for Shoutcast server. Its my first shot at a package build so go easy

From your post i guess you uploaded the result of makepkg and the PKGBUILD file separatly.
If yes you have to compress in one file everithing in the directory where you have builded the package (pkg and src directory excluded).
That mens usually these file:
1) PKGBUILD
2) filelist
3) pkgname.tar.gz (the package)
4) extra file: extra file you create that are needed to make the package, like configuration, patch....
