When trying to run RHYTHMBOX 0.5.3 on the new musicbrainz package, I get "shared library musicbrainz.so cant be found" and the program doesnt run.
I downgraded to the old package.
Could this be fixed (if its a problem), thanks.

gstreamer seems to be pretty buggy. I noticed that it wouldn't play some MP3s. But it was pretty random at picking which it didn't play. It would just complain about unrecognized file format or something like that. But other MP3s from the same album, that I ripped myself, played fine. I recompiled it with the xine backend (--enable-xine) and it plays everything perfectly now. It also never skips like it used to under load using gstreamer.
My only real complaint is that the time bar advances too quickly. It hits the end of the song 5-10 seconds before the song actually finishes.

I did:
ln -s /usr/lib/libmusicbrainz.so.2.0.1 /usr/lib/libmusicbrainz.2
and the problem was solved.
Damn you symlinks.
On the plus side, the "Radio" section now works.

perhaps rythmobox needs to be recompiled as it was compiled against an old musicbrainz library package.
