So this is a simple question I couldn't find the answer to. I don't like gnome or want anything gnome-related, so sorry in advance, I try to keep a light desktop. Anyway, what I'm trying to find an alternative to Beagle (even "-no-gnome" has way too many dependencies for me) or Tracker (depends on gnome-desktop and other gnomey stuff) which are applications that "index" the webpages (etc.) you visit for offline viewing. Perhaps there isn't any alternative, I was just wondering if anyone else uses an application or even a bash script for this. It's useful for me since I'm a laptop user and am not always online but still want to view some of the things I visited earlier.
Thanks

Could you clarify what is the type of document you want to index? Webpages are just text, so you can use a shell script - it will run a bit longer but there's no db so it's definitely a light implementation.
Do you want to search for a word _inside_ the page or for its title? http://www.httrack.com/
