Banshee and iPod sync

I've searched everywhere and it looks like I'm either the only person unable to sync my iPod (add music and playlists) with Banshee, or I'm the only person trying it.

Banshee sees my iPod - but I cannot add new files to it, and although it allows me to create playlists, the playlists don't show on my iPod.

I know there are other alternatives out there that have worked for me on Arch (gtkpod, yamipod) - but I really want to use banshee on Arch, and so far I can only get Banshee working with other distros (Ubuntu, Fedora).  Can someone please help me??

I'm having another issue. Banshee sometimes allows me to transfer files to it, but other times it will show as transferring the files then just try to sync but won't.

also, how are you trying to transfer files onto the device? With me it will not allow me to access fat partitions saying I don't have the permissions so I need to either su or sudo.

Do you have libgpod installed?

yup, I have, same issue. Now it won't even transfer files as root. Seems to have happened after the last itunes update as I restored my ipod and updated it at the same time.

If it is a 5g nano I believe it doesn't work yet.

Nope, it's a 80GB classic 6th gen. Seems to be working now only when I run banshee using sudo.
