Hi all. I've installed and configured splashy according to the Arch Wiki. But sometime into the booting process, Splashy says "Something failed, killing splashy" and splashy dissapears. Is that something to do with daemons? I've the following daemons array set up:
DAEMONS=(@syslog-ng network netfs @crond alsa hal !networkmanager @cups @avahi-daemon)
Is there any problem with that?

How did you install it? splashy-full + slashy-themes packages from AUR and then mkinitcpio?
Btw, splashy is old, why don't you try plymouth.

Yes, I installed splashy-full + splashy-themes from aur. Does plymouth work in arch? And what about xsplash?

Wow, moved to plymouth. Works wonderfully. Thanks.

Now, how do I mark this thread solved?

Edit your first post, and set [SOLVED] or something like that on the title.

If somebody wants to stay with splashy, loading dbus before avahi-daemon solved this issue for me.
Good luck!
