Alsa & Dell XPS: only sound from subwoofer

Hi there,

I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop which has 2 speakers in front and one subwoofer (as far as it can be called like that on a laptop tongue). I now noticed that ALSA only plays sounds from the subwoofer. The 2 normal speakers are not used. Is there a specific setting or anything for this? In my ubuntu era the speakers were used.

I have searched around but could'nt find anything related. (That or I'm in a bad googleday)

Thanks

Open a terminal and type alsamixer, let's see what it says - you should see the appropriate channel for your speakers.

Please, describe if the speakers worked well before or not smile

The speakers work ithout a problem. No remarks in Windows 7.
My alsamixer levels are 100% for PCM and around 5% for master. (The speakers go LOUDDDDDD). When I insert a headphone or my 2.1 set there are no problems.
