"Your system is too SLOW to play this!" mplayer

So i just got a 955be and a 4670 and i was able to play a 720p mkv until i updated to 9.12 of catalyst. do i need to do something to get it to work again or just downgrade to 9.11?

Try different -vo options.

Does xvinfo return anything useful?

I used to get that message on an older system and what helped me was using -vfm ffmpeg and -cache 8192

Give those switches a shot and see if it helps you at all. You may still get the message, but performance should increase.

the weird part is im not even maxing my cpu. im running 80-90% on 1 core then idle on the other 3

The weird part is that it worked for you before. I don't know If It's a regression in catalyst(I don't use it any more).

Anyway, You should give mplayer-mt a try If you have 4 cores. I can play 1080p videos in my humble core2due with it.

ya i installed mplayer-mt and it works now i just find it odd that it happened that way.
