EDIT: I think I actually solved the problem. When I removed the usb-mouse, and changed the screen resolution, the mouse pointer suddenly appeared again. So it might be an autoconfiguration problem with the usb mouse (Logitech wired Optical mouse).

for a couple of days I have a problem with the mouse pinter on my Thinkpad T60.
It occured for the first time, after playing atris. After closing the game window, the pinter just disappeared. I was still able to click buttons and stuff, and navigate by looking at highlighted things, but no mouse pointer was displayed at all.
Restarting X did not change anything, but the funny thing is, when XDM is displayed, for login, the cursor is displayed, and after the login, the screen becomes dark and bright again, and by some sort of magic, there is no pointer anymore.
I figured out, by changing the display resolution to 800*600 the cursor is displayed, but with 1024*768, it's not.
I have absolutely no idea, what the reason for this problem is.
I read, that I might have to add "SWcursor" "On" to the "Device" section in the xorg.conf file, but unfortunately this did not help.
I found another thread here in this board, describing some sort of the same problem with a dualscreen setting, and an ATI graphics card, but actually my notebook contains a Intel graphics card.
