Hi,
I tried to install Sim City 4 today, and since I dont like to have programs installed in my home folder, I create a directory on another partition for the installation and chowned it to me:
sudo mkdir /box/winegames/simcity4
sudo chown pascal:pascal /box/winegames/simcity4
then start the setup.
SC4 says it doesnt have enought free space on the partition, but there is something like 60G free.
I tried the same for Half Life and it worked fine. So it is not a permission problem.
Any idea?
Thank you!

When your folder you want to install it is in /foo/bar where "bar" is another partition than /foo you need to set a wine drive that directs to "bar" directly in winecfg.
I think it is unusual for windows to have more free space in a subfolder than in the parent folder.
