Hi!
I just installed Arch on my Dell Mini 10 netbook, and there's a problem which i have no idea how to solve.
In every 8-10 seconds, the system becomes totally unresponsive for 2-3 seconds. Mouse pointer freezes, terminal cursors stop blinking, playback stops. During the freeze, some of the keyboard events are thrown away.
It happens under X and virtual terminals too (even when X is not running).
update: it looks like even the system clock stops ticking during the freezes: my clock 1 hour late at the end of the day.
If I look at a system monitor, there's no peaks in cpu activity during the freezes.
kernel: 2.6.32-ARCH
lspci: http://pastebin.ca/1724676
rc.conf: http://pastebin.ca/1724677
It's a two-days-old install, most things have been kept default.
update: i tried to stop processes with no luck... there's nothing regular in this. sometimes it starts right after boot, sometimes i can work 1-2 hours with no freeze.
i don't think it's a hardware problem, because win7 and ubuntu works without these problems.
Thanks for the help!

Try to add 'nohz=off' to your kernel boot parametrs list. It will disable dynamic ticks for you and can solve this problem.
thanks, that solved my problem! i wonder how will it affect my battery life
