RECORD extension support in xorg-server

Hi!

I would like to use xnee which in turn needs the RECORD extension to be enabled/loaded in xorg-server.

This extension is known to be broken, but there can be a patchset found here.

I adjusted the PKBUILD of xorg-server-1.7.3.902 and rebuilt it with these patches, but still the RECORD extension gets disabled upon loading X.

Here are the relevant messages from my Xorg.log:

(II) "record" will be loaded. This was enabled by default and also specified in the config file.
(II) LoadModule: "record"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/librecord.so
(II) Module record: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
record: RECORD extension enabled at configure time.
record: This extension is known to be broken, disabling extension now..
record: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20500

Please, can someone inform me about this issue? Are there any plans re-enabling RECORD extension in xorg-server in the future?

Thank you, ione
