halt & reboot no workee..

im not sure where to file this in, but since i suspect this to be an issue with X, i'll post it here..

anyway, i can't seem to use the 'halt' or 'reboot' commands anymore. no more than i can use the kde 'equivalents' ..

using halt the whole thing just hangs, and then my laptop reboots after a few seconds. if i call reboot, it hangs ... forever.

ill look into logs and such but so far i cant find anything that would seem even remotely relevant .....

Dose this only happen when you do it from Konsole or does it happen when you do it from any terminal emulator?

Have you tried doing it from an actual terminal screen?

if not in X no i dont have any issues .. which is why i think it's somehow X related .. but nothing appears in any of the logs i have on my system .. im totally in the dark ! ..
