I was trying to mess around with yaourt to fix some pkgbuild options, thinking a cleanup might be good.
SO I did yaourt -C, and there were some files offered to be replaced, in which I replaced all, and I realised they are all my personal configurations and they are all wiped!
Is there anyway to recover them?

Personal configs? I doubt it, it will only replace system configs which were updated like rc.conf,etc. Still blindly replacing all is a huge mistake. No idea how you can retrieve them. I hope someone does.

Hm, I managed to reconfigure most stuff. Now it seems that my KDE can't detect my sound cards even though in alsamixer, they are there. However KDE is showing notifications that they are gone. Using aplay in terminal, I can hear stuff.
Any idea?

I had this problem once, I simply got rid of pulse-audio. If you have pulse audio see if removing that works. Also make sure you have phonon-xine package and xine backend selected.

Those backends are selected, the sound devices are back after I fixed hal. However on testing, it says it doesn't work, even though aplay does. Weird.
