edit: P.S. I want packages not included in AUR nor the arch mirrors on the install cd. thanks!

edit2: I want the iso to include the entire flashrom toolchain. smile thanks

Re: [SOLVED] How to make custom arch iso?

I know how to use larch (not a typo) sort of but I can only add packages from the official repos in the disc. Nothing else... Please help.

Re: [SOLVED] How to make custom arch iso?

Seems that AIF can do that, according to the Official Install Guide:

Customizing Installations
You can also customize your installation experience by writing new procedures (possibly inheriting from current procedures) or config files for procedures that support it (eg automatic). You have all the aif libraries at your disposal and you can create new libraries. (see /usr/lib/aif) This is a moving target, so consult the AIF readme for more information.

Haven't tried it myself, though.

aif lets you install misc packages on your target system.
putting the packages on the iso is something different.
archiso can do it for sure.

Re: [SOLVED] How to make custom arch iso?

I'm sure archiso can do that, too, but as I only use larch I'm afraid I can't tell you how. To do it in larch you need to build your own local package repository and include this in pacman.conf (basically the same as for the larch repository itself). The gen_repo script might be helpful in building this repository, but there are other ways. I bet there's a wiki page about making a local repository.

Re: [SOLVED] How to make custom arch iso?

curious, how was this solved?  I see the original poster is satisfied with the responses, but I am not exactly seeing how this issue was taken care of.  Could someone elaborate or show me what I am missing?

Re: [SOLVED] How to make custom arch iso?

You can use archiso (don't know about larch since I never used it) and either create a local repo for packages you packaged yourself or that you built from AUR or you can just use the overlay to put *anything* you want in there. The latter is probably what is needed here. Check out the wiki article about archiso.
