Hi!
I made some changes to my keyboard layout so I can use my hotkeys.
When I start x I need to execute the command
xmodmap ~/xmodmap.conf
I added this in my .xinitrc file to be executed, but it does not work.
When I run it from cli it works great.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

are you using startx or xdm?
xdm uses .xsession and not .xinitrc ( I symlink them )

Also try to move this line to the begining of your .xinitrc.

I start x using kdm:
My inittab says:
id:5:initdefault:
and
x:5:respawn:/opt/kde/bin/kdm -nodaemon
So do I execute xinitrc?
Thanks for all the help sofar!

kdm is a different breed.... can't recall what is uses, but it's not .xinitrc
try .xsession

II made a new file in which I placed the command. I put the file in ~/.kde/Autostart
works great!
