My system is a 64-bit arch laptop with openbox as the wm and urxvt as my primary terminal (w/bash as primary shell).
If I launch a gnome-terminal, then applications which run in-shell (eg. pine) play a beep under certain conditions, such as when a new message comes in. Most people seem to hate the audible bell, but it is handy in this case.
Through urxvt I cannot get any system-beep type sounds to play under any circumstances. This used to work by default maybe 6 months ago and then spontaneously quit working; from time to time I have a few minutes to return to the problem.
Any ideas how to enable the audible bell within urxvt, or kluge something if it can't be enabled anymore? -I don't care what sound is played, just want to get SOME sound to play as an alert when I'm busy.
