I use standalone Openbox and one of the things I find it hard to live with is the absence of a tray.
I've tried stalonetray but it's just not working.
So what I'm thinking of is a tray that sits hidden and when I press a certain key combination it appears and I can click what needs to be clicked.
Does one exist? Or can we configure stalonetray to do such a thing?

tint2-svn (in aur) comes with a tray.

You might just want to get a full panel that has a tray. Most of them support auto-hide of some kind.
Also, take a look at "docker". It's nice because it takes up almost no space when there aren't any tray icons.

You can run stalonetray in Openbox's dock and set the dock to autohide. I don't know if Openbox allows you to show the hidden dock with a keypress, but chances are it does.
Edit: Yup, it does.

Oxyd: Thanks, I'll look into that.
I guess I should try adding a tray to my current tint2 panel. I guess I can lose today's date and replace it.
